Hooks

Yes I am that fed up with not being able to get out and fish!!  I though I would share which hooks and sizes I was doing well with last year and some new ones I will be trying First up............................ CRAB HOOKS I think these are great and super strong , The ones in the picture are size #2 and #4 so there is not a huge jump in the sizes I did very well on the size #4 for dabs and small plaice last year next up .......................ABERDEEN MATCH I think these new hooks will go down very well .All my best plaice were on these hooks last year. The two in the picture above are size 2/0 and #4 haven't used the #4 yet only just got them but think they will be great if the bigger ones are anything to go by .the size #1  is a good all-rounder and although they are a lightwire they are still strong and there is a slight offset of which I am sure increased my hook ups My favourites! ........................................STINGERS AKA CHINU Looking fo

Mild wet and windy weather putting a stop to fishing

 I'm sure you're all aware of the crazy weather systems putting a stop to any fishing at this  present time so sadly I haven't any catch reports to put up ..But I have been busy making lots of new rigs to try out and the weather has left me wondering what the fishing will be like this year! I have my own theory .Last year we had a really  long cold snap which I believe was the reason for the may water 'algae' being so bad and it lasted through June  But this year has been such a mild winter I believe the may water will not be much of an issue and could see plenty of  summer fish in early .As for the coming months March /April  normally looking at plaice but I just wonder if we might see a good  spring run of cod assuming the storms give in at the end of this month ! TIME WILL TELL
